Laugh hard. Find hope. And leave feeling better!

Controversial far-right wing commentator Katie Hopkins is coming to Swindon on 1st November 2023 at the Meca Swindon. Hopkins ‘Infectious Tour’ has been described as the “perfect place to think, speak and laugh freely”.
Hopkins tour has already sparked protest in Stroud where Stroud District Community Solidarity issued a statement that they would be protesting outside the Old Convent venue to try and persuade people not to attend as they arrive at the venue.
After an open letter from the group to the venue The Old Convent took the decision to cancel the event, and after the event was moved to another local venue which was also forced to cancel the event. Eventually the Katie Hopkins Infectious stand up event in Stroud was able to find a venue and went ahead at the Star Inn in Whiteshill where the protest group also attended protesting outside the venue.
Hopkins controversial views and comments have seen her Twitter account suspended, where she had more than 1million followers for breaking rules on hate speech. Hopkins has been criticised over remarks comparing migrants to cockroaches.

She sets the laughter bar high: one lovely lady lost control of her bladder in the front row. At another, a man laughed so hard his leg fell off – true stories
Katie says: “so many people have been made to feel alone. Come along to MECA Swindon, you will be surrounded by people who just want the best for you and for you to be as free as you can be. Laugh hard. Find hope. And leave feeling better”.
