Christmas is barely over, New Year is still a couple days away and Sainsbury’s have made the decision to put out their Valentines stock, some 7weeks away from the day itself and shoppers aren’t happy.

The Valentines period is notorious amongst singletons for being a bad time of year coupled with depressing winter weather, low funds off the back of Christmas and alcohol consumption, resulting in rising low moods whilst watching happy couples celebrating.

Supermarkets are also starting to load their shelves with Cadbury’s Cream Eggs and Easter Eggs.

Unhappy people have taken to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) slamming Sainsbury’s

One person posted ‘Sainsbury’s had a Valentine’s Day card display up last week. We used to be a real country’.

Another person commented: ‘Sainsbury’s got valentines cards out’.

Another wrote: ‘I saw Valentine’s cards in Sainsbury’s today’.

Sainsbury’s told the MailOnline: ‘Each year we start stocking some Valentine’s Day products in advance of the main event. This is because some customers like to begin their preparations in plenty of time.’
