parkrun started back in 2004 when 13 runners got together on a blustery day in Bushy Park, Teddington, UK in 2004. Now it is an international family of over nine million parkrunners (and counting).

The parkrun community is growing all the time – but it’s all still based on the simple, basic principles formed from the start: weekly, free, for everyone, forever.

The parkrun Story

Whether this is your first step into physical activity, your first time meeting the community, or you are just looking for a place and way to join a Feel Good Movement, you’re always welcome at parkrun.

What is Seven Fields parkrun?

A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it’s up to you!

When is it?

Every Saturday at 9:00am.

Where is it?

The event takes place at Seven Fields Nature Reserve and Penhill Sports Field, Nr. Hillary Close, Swindon, (closest post code SN25 3AQ). See Course page for more details.

The Course

The course is 5000m (5k) long. This has been accurately measured by us with a professional measuring wheel. The course is at Seven Fields Nature Reserve and Penhill Sports Field, Swindon. The course is run on a mixture of gravel paths and grass. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

Course Description

The course is mostly grass with some gravel paths, and starts alongside the changing blocks within the Penhill sports field. After one full loop around the perimeter of the football pitches the route heads out into the beautiful Seven Fields Nature Reserve. Following the cut grass paths, the route loops around Lark Meadow, Events Field and finally Half Moon Field before retracing your steps back for a final half lap of the sports field finishing back alongside the changing block.
