This week is where all loved up couples celebrate their undying love with Valentines. Many will be out this weekend to enjoy romantic drinks, diner and maybe even a romantic weekend break with this years Valentines being mid-week.

So in looking out for romantic things to do this week, Entertainment Swindon has found a great excuse to head over to the cinema.

On 28th May 1999, we all watched a floppy haired Travel Bookshop owner called Will Thacker fall in love with movie superstar Anna Scott… Anna Scott played by Julia Roberts and Will Thacker played by Hugh Grant came together in one of the most iconic ‘Romcoms’ ever to hit the big screen, the movie was Notting Hill.

This year, this romantic favourite has returned to the big screen this February celebrating its 25th anniversary and is currently screening at Vue Cinema in Greenbridge.

Also showing at Vue Cinema at the Greenbridge Retail Park, is another ‘Romcom’ celebrating its 25th anniversary. On 9th July 1999 saw the release of 10 Things I Hate About You starring Julia Stiles who has also starred in Save The Last Dance and the Jason Bourne franchise.

10 Things I Hate About You explores themes of identity, the complexities of relationships, and the importance of being true to oneself. The movie is known for its witty dialogue, memorable performances and its ability to capture the essence of Shakespeare’s play in a modern day setting.

12th January saw the release of Mean Girls, a modern day reboot to its 2004 original and its really worth going to watch!

From the comedic mind of Tina Fey comes a new twist on the modern classic, MEAN GIRLS. New student Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) is welcomed into the top of the social food chain by the elite group of popular girls called “The Plastics,” ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George (Reneé Rapp) and her minions Gretchen (Bebe Wood) and Karen (Avantika). However, when Cady makes the major misstep of falling for Regina’s ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), she finds herself prey in Regina’s crosshairs.
