2024 has some of the most anticipated movies to hit the cinema, here at Entertainment Swindon, we are looking forward to some epic cinema events, so we thought we’d share and give you the heads up…
Madame Web – In Cinemas NOW!
We’ve already seen this movie, first impressions was that it was one of the best recent Marvel movies and hoping that it will find its way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but feel it will probably be a stand alone franchise due to its timeline within the movie would not fit with the timeline of the movies around the Avengers. Marvel has been disappointing and disjointed of late since the epic Avengers End Game. But Madame Web has definitely raised the game again!
Dune: Part Two – In Cinemas 1st March 2024
Paul Atreides unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire – In Cinema 22nd March 2024
Watching the trailer, this upcoming sequel is looking like another awesome melting-pot of merging the original cast with the new players in the Ghostbusters franchise.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire – In Cinemas 12th April 2024

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes – In Cinemas 24th May 2024
Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows.
As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike. “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” is directed by Wes Ball (the “Maze Runner” trilogy) and stars Owen Teague (“IT”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Kevin Durand (“Locke & Key”), Peter Macon (“Shameless”), and William H. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga – In Cinemas 24th May 2024
The origin story of renegade warrior Furiosa before her encounter and team-up with Mad Max. This post-apocalyptic spin off of the Mad Max franchise is a prequel to Mad Max Fury Road (2015) starring Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa, also starring Chris Hemsworth.
As the world falls, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and into the hands of a Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. While two Tyrants war for dominance over the Citadel, Furiosa survives many trials as she plots a way back home through the Wasteland.
Bad Boys 4 – In Cinema 14th June 2024

This next film in the Bad Boys franchise was like many movies delayed due to the writers strike and is now set for release this summer.

A Quiet Place: Day One – In Cinemas 28th June 2024
This upcoming Paramount Pictures apocalyptic horror serves as a spin-off prequel in the ‘A Quiet Place’ film franchise and directed by Michael Sarnoski. The film stars Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn & Alex Wolff. The film also sees Djimon Hounsou reprising his role from the 2020 film A Quiet Place Part II.

Deadpool & Wolverine – In Cinemas 26th July 2024
Ryan Reynolds is back as Deadpool! Shawn Levy directs this next instalment of Deadpool, DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE.
Reynolds is joined by Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen.
Beetlejuice 2 – In Cinema 6th September 2024

Finally! 36yrs after the original movie that has become a cult classic, Michael Keaton returns to the titular role in this long awaited sequel to the Tim Burton award winning original movie.
Scheduled for release on 6th September 2024, just in time for the spooky season of fall. The long-awaited sequel brings back original actors Michael Keaton (Beetlejuice), Winona Ryder (Lydia Deetz), and Catherine O’Hara (Delia Deetz), with Jenna Ortega and Willem Dafoe joining the franchise in new roles, as well as of course Tim Burton returning as Director.
After months of anticipation, Warner Bros. has confirmed that the sequel is titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. No, this title doesn’t mean there will be two Beetlejuice’s. The name comes from the 1988 film’s phrase for summoning (and banishing) Michael Keaton’s titular poltergeist, offering some clever wordplay for the upcoming Tim Burton movie. While it took 36yrs after the original Beetlejuice to finally get a sequel announcement, the 2024 horror-comedy’s new title suggests that Beetlejuice 3 could secretly already be in the works.
Transformers One – 13th September 2024

All we know so far is this is an origin story set on Cybertron, home of both the Autobot’s and the Decepticon’s. The film is said to focus on the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron.
Joker: Folie a Deux – In Cinemas 4th October 2024

Sequel to the film “Joker” from 2019, and that pretty much all we know about this movie so far…
Venom 3 – In Cinema 8th November 2024

Venom 3 is scheduled for a global release on November 8, 2024. Initially planned for July 11, 2024, filming was halted by the SAG-AFTRA strike but resumed in November 2023, as confirmed by Tom Hardy
Gladiator 2 – In Cinemas 22nd November 2024

Follows Lucius the son of Maximus’ love Lucilla, after Maximus death.
Moana 2 – In Cinemas 27th November 2024
The line where the sky meets the sea is calling Moana once again. Disney’s sequel to “Moana,” which will be released theatrically on 27th November. Surprisingly, the sequel was originally developed as a TV series, but became a feature film after Disney’s CEO Bob Iger was impressed with the footage.
Moana 2 will take cinema goers on an expansive new voyage with Moana, Maui and a brand-new crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.”
Mufasa: The Lion King – In Cinema 20th December 2024

Simba, having become king of the Pride Lands, is determined for his cub to follow in his paw prints while the origins of his late father Mufasa are explored.
Mufasa: The Lion King is the upcoming Disney film directed by Barry Jenkins, written by Jeff Nathanson, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pastel Productions. It is intended to be the live-action styled photorealistic computer-generated imagery prequel to the similarly created 2019 version and the original 1994 film The Lion King.
Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and John Kani reprise their character roles from the remake, and are joined by Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr., who voice their young versions of King Mufasa and his younger brother Scar, respectively.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 – In Cinema 20th December 2024
What we know so far… Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is on the way, and there are already exciting updates about the blue speedster’s latest adventure. The Sonic franchise has been one of the most famous in gaming history, with the eponymous blue hedgehog rivaling characters like Mario in terms of popularity.
Paramounts successful cinematic universe has become both a critically well-received and commercially successful franchise. With so much more world to explore from the video game source material, the latest Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie updates promise more fun is on the way.
In the short clip released so far, the logo for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is revealed, and it mirrors the colour scheme of the iconic villain Shadow, who was last seen in Sonic 2‘s credits. Though the casting of Shadow has yet to be revealed, the signature laugh heard at the end of the video clip suggests the part has been cast.
