Not too long to go now until Easter, so if you are currently fasting and salivating at just the very mention of chocolate then Aldi has you covered with a range of delicious luxury chocolate eggs at affordable prices.

Walking round supermarkets right now, you will see chocolate eggs lining the isles, so we’ve given a few, OK a lot of these chocolate treats a tasting! Honestly, they just jumped into our trolley!

The big brands of Cadbury & Nestle of course have the usual Cream Egg & Mars amongst their line-up, and lets face it, who can resist a Cadbury Cream Egg? But with the current living crisis still hitting our pockets, Entertainment Swindon felt we should look at more affordable options and we were very pleasantly pleased.

Walking the isles of the local Aldi, the UK’s cheapest supermarket, we found two cute chocolate puppies, these cute animals cost just £2.99 each, which is half the price of the chocolate pooches sold in M&S.

The German supermarket is offering a range of chocolate treats to cater for everyones pocket and taste, there are silky Swiss milk chocolate with honey and almond nougat pieces, it comes with four mini mountain bars, priced at just £6.99, making it a huge 41% cheaper than the Nestle Toblerone equivalent.

Other new eggs launched this year by the German supermarket, include the Specially Selected Belgian Milk Chocolate and Valencia Orange Marble Egg £6.99, the Specially Selected Belgian White Chocolate and Scottish Raspberry Marble Egg, and the Specially Selected Salted Caramel Crunch Egg for £7.99.

There are also two new Specially Selected Ripple Eggs at just £4.99 which come in Dark Chocolate and Rich Coffee, as well as White Chocolate with Mango and Passion Fruit options.

It’s not just Easter eggs on offer, as there are a number of other egg-citing products in store now, with Aldi also creating new popcorn slabs for £2.49each.

If you are looking for a larger egg, then Aldi have you covered with a 600g Giant Galeggsy Egg, three times the size of your standard Easter egg and features a milk chocolate shell adored with a 3D white rocket ship. This space themed jaw dropper will be available from Sunday 10th of March.

Doing our research beyond the tasting, which we had to do for scientific purposes (Honest!), we had a check on social media to see what the people of Britain had to say, and the people of Britain have been going wild over Aldi’s range of delicious Easter treats.

Eliza Eyre commented on a post about Aldi’s range of Easter eggs with “Running to Aldi for that white chocolate and lemon egg”, another took to facebook saying “NO WAY! These look soooooo good”.

Vegan Food UK — News  Facebook page also pointed out that as well as all these new goodies Aldi has a selection of tempting vegan Easter eggs, which to be fair and again scientific (again, honestly!) we checked out some of these dairy free Easter products and were actually shocked and loved them! this dairy free line up includes, Specially Selected Free From Egg & Truffles in double Choc Brownie or Lemon Drizzle Marble flavours, Free From Luna the Strawberry and White Choco Lamb, Free From Honeycomb Choco Egg, and a Free From Eggstreme Choco Egg that’s filled with marshmallows and more.

They shared images of the Free From eggs, writing: ‘Wow! Aldi might have the BEST vegan Easter eggs this year (and we think they are right!). The new vegan Easter eggs are in some fantastic flavours this year, and a lot of them are soya free as well as gluten free vegan.’

This news comes after shoppers discovered that Aldi have been selling a £1.79 alternative to the iconic discontinued Cadbury product.

We’re talking of course about Cadbury Snaps. A Pringles looking chocolate product.

The thin and light chocolate curves disappeared from supermarket shelves in 2010, but it was only confirmed in November 2023 that they had been officially discontinued.

For years chocolate lovers have been searching for something to fill the void of this axed sweet, and it seems Aldi had been selling the perfect thing, right under our noses this whole time!

So with that, we are off back down to our local Aldi as we need to taste test some more Easter treats for scientific purposes of course!

One response to “Aldi’s 2024 chocolate egg range proclaimed this years ‘best’ Easter eggs”
