Musician Peter Gabriel first started the event in 1982 at the Bath and West Showground, and showcases music from around the globe.
Paula Henderson, programmer at WOMAD, in an interview with BBC Radio Wiltshire said: “You never know what is going to happen.

“That is the beauty of the festival, you are always walking around, and you will hear some music and you will see a sight and think ‘what is that?’.
“You stop, take the time and you sit down and listen, or you dance. It just ends up being a beautiful weekend.”
WOMAD brings together many forms of music, arts and dance from countries and cultures around the world on seven separate stage and workshop areas, WOMAD stands for World of Music, Arts and Dance, and takes place in the picturesque site at Charlton Park, near Malmesbury in Wiltshire.
Along with the music there’s the World of Words, World of Art, World of Children, World of Wellbeing, and Taste the World.
