On Saturday 16th March, the Highworth Historical Society will be holding its popular open day.

Members of the Highworth Historical Society are looking forward to meeting and talking with members of the public and show of a display of Roman and other early Highworth historical finds.

Many of the Historical Societies items have over the years been donated, as well as bought at auction. The groups old documents have to be stored using the correct wrappings which are expensive. There are some new items in their farming display. Some have been donated by a local farmer and some have been found in some rather strange places. These items are outdoors so everyone at the Historical Society are hoping for a dry day.

For younger children there will be a mock-up of an archeological dig. This will show how these are carried out and children can have a go at digging for archeological treasures.

The open days display will be following the titel of the the groups latest book ‘Highworth Through Time’ which will be available to purchase along side other publications by the Highworth Historical Society.

If you have any items you would like identified, the group invite you to bring them along.
