Exciting news for all Bosch fans! Amazon Freevee is set to release the third season of Bosch Legacy, but thats just the start of the good news, season three is set for a crossover introducing a new spinoff which makes this tenth outing for Bosch all the more exciting!

Harry Bosch, former LAPD detective is already in his first spinoff, Legacy is actually the spinoff of Bosch which ran for seven seasons. After wrapping up in 2021, the spinoff Bosch Legacy was green-lit as a sequel to the original show which sees Bosch retired from the LAPD, turning to the private sector as a private investigator.

Now season three which follows Bosch played by Titus Welliver will centre around Detective Renee Ballard who works the night shift out of the Hollywood Station which Bosch worked out of in the original show. Ballard, played by Designated Survivor’s Maggie Q is a cold case detective, opening up the Bosch Universe to the so far un-named spinoff making the franchise very exciting for Bosch fans.

In Bosch: Legacy season one, Harry teams up with several familiar faces from the original show, including high-powered defence attorney Honey “Money” Chandler (Mimi Rogers), as well as his daughter, Maddie (Madison Lintz), who’s a new ‘Boot’ LAPD patrol officer fresh out of the academy.

After the season one cliffhanger finale, Legacy‘s season two delved into corrupt city inspector Kurt Dockweiler’s (David Denman) abduction of Maddie. The season two finale sees Dockweiler murdered in prison, with possibly Bosch being the orchestrator.

So season three is set to have multiple layers of exciting storylines and set to be darker than previous outings of Harry Bosch with Michael Connelly who penned the Bosch novels that the streaming franchise is based which will bring in this new spinoff will have a renewed focus on hard to solve cold cases adding a refreshing new dimension to the Bosch Universe.

Not much is currently known about the new spinoff featuring the Renee Ballard character, but we do know it is set to go into production very soon. Little is also known how much Ballard will feature in Bosch Legacy season three’s core story, but what we do know is this is exciting news for fans of the Bosch franchise and an obvious commitment to its longevity.
