Josie Nicholls from Valenzuela, Manila in the Philippines, now living in Haydon Wick after moving to the UK in 2007 today officially launched her new scented candle business. Currently an online web-based business, Josie also plans to set up at local events and eventually open her very own small shop and expanding to other scented products such as soap bars.

The candles all hand made by Josie herself first started as a way to get through though times last year, dealing with depression, a passionate hobby that today officially became a business.

A spark of creativity and passion that ignited a hobby of making candles giving a welcome distraction from life at the time has now given Josie freedom and work-life balance that in her words doesn’t feel like work, “I love what I’m doing, I can sit making candles all day long and not feel tired, it simply gives me enjoyment and pleasure coming up with lovely scents and turning them into candles”.

Josie went on to say “I want to bring joy and delight to peoples lives through the power of fragrance”.

Checking out the various candles at todays launch, we at Entertainment Swindon were really impressed! The quality of presentation in the elegant glasses containing the candles, finished of with a smooth wooden lid. Open up the lid and release the scent, we particularly loved the ‘Revival Citrus’ and the ‘Verdant Harmony’. Checking out some of the other scents we were pleasantly surprised smelling the ‘Dark Honey & Tobacco’ scent, yes, you heard us right, it sort of smelled like walking into a cigar shop with a hint of honey, which we found out talking to its creator that the Dark Honey & Tobacco was one of the hot favourites selling like hotcakes along with the Verdant Harmony.

The launch was full of eager customers, friends and family ready to check out and take away some of the products on display.
