Last night saw the WrdeUp Highworth Music Festival kick off with a banging lineup! Opened up with indie pop rock band Alpha Circle who this year won the ‘Battle of the Bands’ 2024 title at the Butarque Festival in Madrid got a lively crowd out of the beer tent dancing in the rain under umbrellas and makeshift ponchos made from binliners! The band sang a mix of their own material as well as ending with an Oasis anthem.

Following Alpha Circle, the legend in his own right Fatboy Tim banged out some DJ Fatboy Slim tunes along with some of his very own mixed tunes which got the wet crowd bouncing with glowsticks and flashing lights. The rain did not stop the fun well into the night with the headline act Fleetwood Bac who kept the crowd rocking as the rain came down harder. Despite the downpour of heavy rain, more of the beer tent emptied out to rock with the band in rain that Glastonbury would be proud of!

Taking to social media Tom thanked the festival goers for coming out in the rain, saying “A massive thank you to everyone who turned up last night and danced in the rain” Tom went on to say “It was amazing!’

Saturday is looking like a sunny afternoon to welcome in the hundreds of festival goers expected to turn up with an exciting lineup including Rock Choir kicking off the lineup along with Double Helix, Seven7’s, a Taylor Swift Tribute ending with the awesome Black Eyed Peaz headlining.

Weather is looking at cheering up and becoming sunny in time for Saturdays lineup with the rain clearing by around noon. Walking around the festival ground, the field is great with a hard ground, so no need for your Glastonbury wellies.
