It’s been long on the cards, rumour after rumour that Oasis could be getting back together, but now after todays separate posts on X (formerly Twitter) teasing that an announcement could be coming Tuesday morning.
The rock legends Liam & Noel Gallagher have fuelled rumours of a long awaited Oasis reunion shared the same video on their X accounts showing “27.08.24” before flickering to say “8am” written in the style of the Oasis logo.
Liam and Noel seem to have buried their 15year long feud to reunite in time for the bands 30th anniversary of their debut studio album “Definitely Maybe” with gigs set for 2025 at Heaton Park and Wembley. With every Oasis fan now on the edge of their seat waiting for an official announcement on Tuesday at 8am, even though neither brother mentions each other in their X posts.
Industry insiders have told the press/media outlets that the band are booked to play 10nights at Heaton Park, as well as Wembley dates, a headline slot at Glastonbury reportedly in the works, and potential Scotland gigs.
Liam has also added to speculation of a reunion on Sunday morning when he posted on X: “I never did like that word FORMER.”
He also offered tongue-in-cheek responses to fans who flooded him with messages on social media asking for confirmation.
Prior to the Gallagher brothers posts on X, Liam has been responding to growing rumours that a reunion could be on the cards leaving not-so subtle clues on his social media.
when one fan said Heaton Park is a “terrible venue for concerts”, Liam responded: “See you down the front.”
The former Oasis frontman told fans when one fan said Heaton Park is a “terrible venue for concerts”, Liam responded: “See you down the front.” and told them to ‘enjoy’ one day at time when suggesting dates when an announcement could be due.
The Britpop band who split back in 2009 after a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine Festival in Paris burst onto the music scene in Manchester in 1991, the lineup initially consisted of Liam Gallagher (lead vocals), Paul Arthurs (guitar), Paul McGuigan (bass guitar) and Tony McCarroll (drums), with Liam asking his older brother Noel Gallagher (lead guitar, vocals) to join as a fifth member a few months later to finalise their formation.
Noel became the de facto leader of the group and took over the songwriting duties for the band’s first four albums and Oasis went on to become one of the defining and most globally successful groups of the Britpop genre.
Oasis signed to independent record label Creation Records in 1993 and released their record-setting debut album Definitely Maybe (1994), which topped the UK Albums Chart and quickly became the fastest-selling debut album in British history at the time. Throughout the 90s the brothers were in the national press, as much for their public disputes as their music.
In 1997, Oasis released their highly anticipated third studio album, Be Here Now, which became the fastest-selling album in UK chart history. This year sees the 30th anniversary of the bands debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ and 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of ‘Whats The Story (Morning Glory), the bands second album. Its like everything is falling into line, like it was written in the stars. Noel Gallagher even praised his younger brothers singing during an interview at legendary Manchester record shop Sifters in Burnage where the pair were regulars back in the day.
“It’s the delivery and tone of his voice and the attitude. I don’t have the same attitude as him,” he said. “Liam is a great rocker. If songs were drinks, Liam’s is a shot of tequila and mine’s half a Guinness on a Tuesday.”
Earlier this month, Liam Gallagher’s son Gene said he gets ‘the feeling’ his father would like to see an Oasis reunion.
It’s also expected that Tuesdays announcement will let fans know that tickets will go on sale this week, possibly Friday, priced at around £100.

Formed in 1991, the Britpop group rose to fame with hits like Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger and Stop Crying Your Heart Out.
The brothers went on to have successful separate careers, with Noel fronting the group Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, while Liam has released four albums as a solo artist.
