For many of us, the final episode ever of The Grand Tour is going to be an emotional ride as we say goodbye to Richard Hammond, James May and of course Jeremy Clarkson with ‘One For The Road’.

The legendary trio who have entertained us with their take on the motor industry by telling us exactly what they think of the cars they have driven with no pulled punches for the past 22yrs are hanging up their car keys for the very last time to part ways to concentrate on their respective solo projects.

Hammond has stick to working with cars having set up his own car restoration business The Smallest Cog which features on The Discovery Channel’s Richard Hammonds Workshop. James May will continue to take on his global adventures on Amazon Prime with Our Man In… and Clarkson although claiming to be just too old and fat to carry on with car shows seems to be busier than he ever has with Amazons most popular show Clarkson’s Farm, which follows him and his team, running Diddley Squat Farm and then theres Clarkson’s latest business adventure, taking ownership of a Cotswold pub he has called The Farmers Dog, a few miles down the road from the farm where you can eat local sourced food and of course have a tipple of Hawkstones.

You can see the final ever episode of The Grand Tour on Amazon Prime – Friday 13th September 2024.

The trio came together on our screens on the BBC show Top Gear, turning the show into an instant success with legendary status 22yrs ago, of which no other presenters have ever been able to emulate.

Talking to The Sun Newspaper, James May explained why he felt it was time. May Said “I won’t really miss the stress of it because I’m too old now and a bit frail compared with back when we started”, after 22yrs of working with Clarkson & Hammond, he explained that it felt like time to stop while they could still end the show on a high note. Which although the right decision, for the fans that have followed the trios crazy car adventures around the globe for 22yrs, just watching the trailer, you can’t help but sigh in sadness as you laugh at the calamities and banter shown in the trailer. This Friday will be an emotional ending for all as the trio finally switch off the ignition, step out of their cars and hang up their car keys for the very last time.
