Swindon Open Studios In its 20th year, Swindon Open Studios is run entirely by volunteers. Artists all over Swindon open their studios, or exhibit at other venues. 2024 is their biggest year ever, including over 130 creatives, across 56 venues. The Carriage Works Swindon Borough Council have kindly provided one of the Carriage Works sheds to house the props and artists for this exhibition. Built in 1876 by GWR, the Carriage Works has always been a place of light industry; where wood, leather, and fabric were hand-crafted to make the carriages.

A wide range of other items were also made there over the years, from submarines to prosthetic limbs. So it’s a perfect setting for some of Swindon’s finest creatives, who make beautiful things, whether it’s a painting, some ceramics or a film-inspired Motorbike!
