Local Swindon DJ & Urban Artist Silver Star launched his first music video on Friday with its official press launch in Tanzania where the video was shot. The ‘Press Launch’ was aired live on national Tanzanian channel Manara TV. Silver Star was unfortunately unable to travel to Tanzania for the launch due to commitments here in the UK, but Jam Bito, one of Tanzania’s top Urban Artists, who performs ‘Bodaboda’ alongside Silver was at the launch along with head of road safety in the country Commissioner MD Stephen Michael Deleli.

Bodaboda (motorcyclist) was created to help promote road safety by Silver Star after being on holiday in Tanzania and witnessing the poor road safety, especially for motorcyclists. Approaching government officials and Jam Bito, the idea became a reality and the video was produced.

The video will now be at the heart of Tanzania’s road traffic safety campaign for motorcyclists.

Speaking to Silver Star: “being back in my home country of Tanzania after a long time away, I saw a huge difference in road safety compared to here in the UK, I felt I really needed to do something to support the community.”

Silver went on to say “If I can save just one life from this video, then it would have been worth it.  It’s really exciting that the Tanzanian government have thrown their full support to the video and the campaign, I can’t wait for people to see the video”.

Asking Silver where he goes from here, he said “Well, the video Bodaboda drops on Friday and so we’ve lots of things planned to promote it and then its straight into the next project.  At the end of the month I’ll be shooting my next music video with General Levy (famous for the huge hit ‘Jungle is Massive’) to release before Christmas, so its really exciting, I’ve gained management and have a whole load of tracks ready to work on and get ready to release over the coming months and into 2025”.
