The Victoria was packed out for the fundraising event, kicking off with local band Animal House, who reformed for a one off performance to support the charity for it’s 25th anniversary in “honour” of Mike ‘Fatboy’ Lawless, who died of cancer 26yrs ago.

The auction that included items from rugby shirts signed by legends of the game, including South Africa’s John Smit & Brian Habana, Scotland’s Sean Lamont and England’s Rochelle Clark, signed prints of Ed Sheeran and Jon Bon Jovi and a fishing permit for Andy’s Lake in South Cerney which gave one lucky bidder the chance to jump their 18month waiting list.

The first half of the auction was followed with AC/DC’s longest standing tribute band Hells Bells that performed all of AC/DC’s biggest rock anthems and even their take on Megadeaths Ace of Spades, before handing over to more fundraising and the headline act Juliet’s Not Dead who brought down the foundations with their adrenaline fuelled riffs and rock attitude we haven’t seen since the golden age of rock music from bands like Motley Crew, Iron Maiden, Skid Row & Guns n Roses.

Speaking to one of the charities volunteers, they told us “We haven’t got an exact amount yet, but we think it is around £5000”.

The charity over the years has raised hundreds of thousands of pound to buy Christmas presents for children with cancer and leukaemia. Emma Law from the charity said “we couldn’t have done it without everyones generous support”.
