This weekend has seen fireworks displays, big and small across Swindon and up & down the country. Entertainment Swindon were invited along to cover the Swindon Cricket Club Family Fireworks Display which proved to be yet another huge success.

The event put on by volunteers of the Swindon Cricket Club and Distant Thunder Fireworks gave an almost sold out capacity crowd of Swindonian’s a funtastic evening starting with a free packet of sweets to the kids coming through the gate to the explosive finale of the fireworks display. There was food put on by various venders including Goody’s who provided Hotdogs, Burgers and Chips to keep everyone warm, fun rides for the little ones including bouncy castle and big inflatable slide provided by Scarrotts Funfairs, DJ Jeff of Beatmaster Roadshow providing plenty of banging tunes throughout the night, a stilt walker, and much much more.

There was also a bonfire before the main event of fireworks put on by the award winning masters of fireworks displays Distant Thunder Fireworks who were also our Entertainment Swindon Guide to Fireworks Night sponsor.

The family event is put on each year to support both local charity and the club to maintain the grounds and to fund playing, social and volunteering opportunities across the borough.

This year the chosen charity was The Swindon Food Collective who will receive a £500 donation from the club.

Speaking to a member of the Swindon Cricket Club, they said “We are extremely grateful to all who helped, the volunteers, the public that bought tickets and of course the sponsors, who without their support, this event would not be the success it is, so big thanks to ‘All Set Security, Coe Capital Wealth Management, Deacons, IBMC Building Contractors, Blunsdon House Hotel, Abbey Electrical UK, Andy Compton Plumbing & Heating Services and ABC Signs“.
