The African Festival Comes to St. Mark’s Recreation Ground on 5th July 2025.
Swindon will be bursting with colour, music, and celebration as the African Festival returns to St. Mark’s Recreation Ground, Whitehouse road, SN2 1DB this July 2025. From 1:00PM to 8:00PM, this family-friendly, free event promises a vibrant day filled with African-inspired performances, art, food, and cultural experiences.
The African Festival in Swindon brings together communities and welcomes people of all backgrounds to share in the richness of African heritage. The event will feature traditional drumming and dance performances, live music from talented African artists, and art installations showcasing the diversity of African creativity and storytelling.
In addition to live entertainment, visitors can enjoy a wide array of African cuisine, offering flavours from across the continent. Attendees are invited to visit the African Marketplace, where local artisans and vendors will display crafts, jewellery, and fashion items that represent the colorful traditions of various African regions.

The African Festival is organised by Joy Grotzinger and her team, with support from North Swindon Parish Council and local sponsors who share a commitment to cultural celebration and community unity.
