The Swindon Deputy Mayor Cllr Fay Howard will join the Christmas fun at Coleview Community Centre on 5 December from 11am for the Goldies Christmas Singing Event.
Swindon Borough Council continue to give their support to fund Goldies Sing&Smile sessions throughout the year in various sheltered housing communities and the open session at Coleview Community Centre on the first Thursday of each month from 10.45am – 11.45am. Everyone is welcome!
Participants are in for a real treat, with food and drink all provided for them, lots of Christmas Singing and a huge raffle.
We are lucky enough once again to have Covingham Park Primary School to entertain. They delighted Goldies participants last year with a wonderful performance of Christmas music. This year we will share some songs together as well as the ones the children have already prepared.
Goldies Sing&Smiles are monthly daytime sessions mainly aimed at over 60’s who may be feeling lonely, isolated and those living with dementia, but everyone is welcome. We’re not a choir so you don’t have to be able to sing, just enjoy music! There’s no need to book, just turn up, sing, smile, dance, tap a-long, meet old and new friends, share memories but most of all have fun! We sing along to popular hits from the 50’s onwards from artists including our very own Patron Sir Cliff Richard, The Beatles, Petula Clark, ABBA, Elvis and many, many, more.
For further information about any of Goldies Sing&Smile sessions or about our Christmas events please contact the office on 01761 470006 or you can email events@golden-oldies.org.uk.
