This week whilst putting fuel in the car at my local Budgens Petrol Station in Highworth, I was shocked at the price of Creme Eggs this year! Stood in line waiting to pay for fuel, I saw the promo for the white Cadbury Creme Eggs where it was like they were trying to tell me they were giving me a great deal if I bought two creme eggs for the price of £1.75!

I remember going back to my childhood, alright four decades ago when you could buy a creme egg for just 25p. It was affordable for kids pocket money, a £1 for one egg is not affordable for many kids today to grab a creme egg. So when I heard about shoppers finding slashed prices for the moorish Cadbury delight, I had to let as many fans of this chocolate egg know where to get the deal of the town!

Creme Egg fans have been swooping into a major supermarket chain to to get their cream egg fix at slashed prices, and it isn’t the likes of Aldi, Tesco or Asda.

Shoppers have found this supermarket chain are offering Cadbury Creme Egg 5 pack for just £2, which is normally retailed at £4.

Fans of the creme egg found out through Bargain Hunter website ‘Hot Deals UK after they posted the egg-cellent deal on its website with the offer immediately receiving a lot of attention.

What is the supermarket in question I hear you ask? Well, it’s Morrisons. But before you head down to empty the shelves of creme eggs, you will need a Morrisons ‘More Card, the chains loyalty reward scheme.

Creme Egg fans also have a choice, from just the original milk chocolate flavour we all know and love, shoppers can also get hold of a variety pack that comes with three different flavours, white chocolate, caramel and of course the classic milk chocolate flavour.

The iconic chocolate that seems to pop onto our supermarket shelves just after Christmas is an egg shaped treat with a chocolate shell surrounding a moorish tasty sugary fondant that looks much like the inside of a real egg when boiled, with that yellow gold surrounded by white.

Morrisons have seen shoppers swooping in to grab the bargain price tag on the shelves at half the price of many of its competitors. For example, in Poundland and Iceland the Creme Egg box of 5 are selling for £3.50 and in Sainsbury’s and Waitrose they’re even priced at £4.

Creme Egg fans have been sharing their thoughts on social media as to which flavour of egg was their favourite, with the white chocolate egg catching a lot of attention! For me the classic milk chocolate shell will always be my favourite, however I have to say, that cheeky white chocolate shell varient is a very close second favourite.

For the caramel egg, its not for me, though again the response on social media has been hugely positive with customers saying “Absolutely delicious’ and “Caramel is a nice chance, great to off different flavours”.

If the £2 bargain wasn’t enough, you’ll also have earn points on your purchase to use when you head back to shop in store, online or at the fuel pump. For each 5000 points you will receive a £5 to spend in any Morrisons store, as well as having access to a range of the supermarket chains store discounts only available to More Card customers.
