The Abingdon Air & Country Show is back again with plenty to do and see for all the family. The Gazelle Squadron will be back to conduct their pairs arial display
Regular displays from One of our regular performers the Gazelle squadron will conduct a pairs display, who will be joined throughout the day by the Royal Air Force Grob 115E Tutor Mk1 Air Display, the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team and the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Avro Lancaster & Douglas DC3 Dakota pairs Air Display, to mention just a few of the displays that will entertain the crowd.
On the ground there will be the Classic Jets Radio Controlled Model Group which was formed by Mr Richard Spreadbury whom over the years have used Abingdon Airfield for their frequent meetings, at least one Westland Scout, a Kirby Cadet XA310 glider from the Air Cadet Historic Flight (formerly the 621 Volunteer Gliding Squadron Historic Flight), along with a rare Grasshopper TX1 glider, a 1937 Kirby Kite glider.

On the ground there will also be tank rides with the SWB Experience who will be providing a Scorpian Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicle to ride on throughout the day, a classic car area, as well as a parade of classics vehicles, including cars, vintage commercial lorries and buses that will entertain the crowds as they pass down the runway.

Within the show-ground you will find a small number of ex Military Vehicles. Some are private individuals who purchased a vehicle with the intention to restore it over a number of years, and some are from the Military Vehicle Trust (MVT) organisation.

Another regular attraction is the popular Crafts section containing a great selection of home made gifts such as jewellery, glass ware, paintings, ornaments, clothing, homemade jams to name a few.
Live music from Karen & Duncan Wymbs who will being playing traditional folk type music during the day. Wantage based band ‘Horizon’. They perform 60s pop songs with Chris Rae on acoustic guitar & vocals and Howard Hill on bass, electric guitar, mandolin and ukulele.
Songs from The Beatles, The Kinks, Buddy Holly, Lindisfarne, The Monkees and many others are covered.
There will be various trade and exhibit stands, including trade stands selling models, aviation books, artwork, photography prints, wooden carved models, aviation metal die-cast models, outdoor garden ornaments & furniture, homemade sweets, army surplus equipment, aviation t-shirts to name a few.

Amusements providing fun for children which includes Mini Go Karts & Bouncy Castles. As well as a Flight Simulator which you can sit inside and feel like you are in a Typhoon jet fighter (or another aircraft depending on what will be kindly brought to the show).

The organisers are also excited to announce the return of Trooper Events, with well known characters such as Chewbacca and stormtroopers who will be roaming around the show-ground throughout the day, and much more besides to entertain the crowd in the air and on the ground.
