The annual Old Town Beer Festival 2025 kicks-off on Thursday May 8th with a night of stand up comedy from The Swindon Old Town Comedy Club, headlined by Trigger Happy TV comic legend, Dom Joly! Headliner: Dom Joly
Dom Joly is a multi-award-winning British comedian and writer.
His smash hit hidden camera series Trigger Happy TV re-defined the genre and was a primetime international smash – selling to over 80 countries around the world and had a spin-off series on Comedy Central USA.
Dom has also made World Shut Your Mouth for BBC1 and two series of This is Dom Joly for BBC3 as well as two series of Fool Britannia – a prime-time Saturday night comedy show for ITV1.
In 2016 he brought back an updated and brand-new series of Trigger Happy to huge acclaim for All4 and Channel 4.
Matt Richardson
Matt is also a multi-award winning stand-up comedian and one of the most exciting names on the circuit currently rising through the ranks having started stand-up in 2009 at 18 years old.
Since then Matt has firmly established himself as one of the UK’s most exciting young performers and presenters – hosting the drivetime show on Virgin Radio.
His TV credits include co-hosting the Xtra Factor alongside Caroline Flack, Co-Hosting Celebrity Haunted Hotel Live! alongside Christine Lampard and countless other shows.
Joanna Surowiec
Joanna generously shares her playful, self-deprecating humour with hints of darkness.
Her comedy is a combination of one-liners and relatable personal stories we can connect with.
Through her observational comedy, she explores the joys and the ridiculousness of being a human in the UK.
Sam Michael
Our local MC living in Swindon, Sam Michael is a stand up comedian and award winning podcaster who has been described as “effortlessly able to win over a crowd” (We Are Cult Magazine) and “outright hilarious” (BBC Radio Wiltshire).
He was a finalist in last year’s Stand Up For Cider competition.
He has written and performed comedy to audiences across the UK and has YouTube account with over 1,700 subscribers.

Saturday 10th May – Beer Festival All Day Ticket – 12 noon-10pm – £15 – Festival glass, festival guide, and first two drinks included.
Saturday 10th May – Beer Festival Evening Ticket – 5pm-10pm – £12 – Featuring live music, festival glass, festival guide and first drink included.
Sunday 11th May – Grand Finale Music Concert performed by The Wessex and special guests – 6pm-9pm – £12 Adults/ £6 Children – Free beer, cider, and snacks included (soft drinks sold separately)
