In a collaboration between Audi and evo, evo contributing editor Adam Towler embarked on an unforgettable road trip in the RS e-tron GT performance, journeying across Germany before ending at Thruxton Circuit in the UK.  As Audi’s flagship all-electric performance car, the RS e-tron GT is a fusion of cutting-edge technology and the raw excitement of the brand’s RS heritage. So what better way to showcase its breathtaking performance than by putting it to the test over the course of a typical evo-style 1000-mile road trip.

‘The four-wheel-drive traction and stability of this car made that journey – well, what can I say – it just sort of ate it and swallowed it whole. It was really impressive’

Having picked up the car in Germany, the adventure really begins on the legendary autobahn, where the RS e-tron GT performance’s instant torque and immense power deliver effortless high-speed cruising. From there, the team tackles dramatic mountain passes and the Nürburgring, giving the car the perfect opportunity to demonstrate its agility, precision and relentless acceleration.

The journey culminates back in the UK at Thruxton Circuit, one of Britain’s fastest race tracks. Here, the RS e-tron GT performance is unleashed in a final test of handling and outright speed – proving, once and for all, that electrification doesn’t mean compromising on driving thrills.
