Swindon Storm v Plymouth Vanguard 25/05/25

Swindon came into the game with a win over league leaders Hereford two weeks ago, so the team were ready to give it everything.

First quarter:

Storm won the toss and decided to kick towards Plymouth. Plymouth started well with some fast plays and pushing forward, only to be stopped by Swindon’s defensive line and a push forward from Swindon, which led to Swindon getting their first touchdown of the game.

A great run by Heaton with a last gasp tackle from Plymouth, but with Heaton’s momentum proving too strong, it was enough to go over the line and giving Swindon the touchdown.

Number 29 Adam Day stepped up for the field goal converting the kick to give a first quarter lead Swindon (7) v (0) Plymouth

Second Quarter:

With both teams exchanging the ball, there was no points scored in second quarter, but the games second quarter proved to be a great clash of determination from both teams.

Third Quarter:

With Plymouth playing a throwing game saw them nearly get back with a touchdown, but again Swindon’s defence held strong, keeping the home side in the lead into the fourth quarter.

Fourth Quarter:

Halfway through the fourth quarter saw Swindon push forward. A great run by Storms Number 26 up the field only to be tackled by Plymouths Number 45 just short of the goal line. But it wasn’t long before Storm charged forward again with a second touchdown.

With just 1 yard from the touchline, Storms Number 73, Jamie Richardson got over the line in a bigg huddle forward. With Swindon converting the field goal, Plymouth were now trailing 13 to 0.

Into the last 5mins of the game and Swindon pushing forward against Plymouth’s defence, Swindon reached a 4th down on the 10yard line where Swinon’s Adam Day converted a field attempt to end the game Swindon 16 v 0 Plymouth.
