Swindon’s own The Longevity Games is breaking new ground once again with its upcoming event at Moredon Sporting Hub on Sunday 20th July, which is set to become the UK’s first-ever functional fitness competition held on a fully closed cycle track. With just a few spaces remaining and entries closing at 7pm this Sunday, 6th July, time is running out to be part of this powerful community movement.

Hundreds of people — from seasoned athletes to complete newcomers are taking part. Participants include returning entrants, groups of friends, families, gym communities, and personal training groups all ready to test themselves, support one another, and be part of a movement that’s transforming lives through fitness and connection.

In a powerful show of leadership, 11 Swindon councillors have signed up with several returning after competing in previous events. They’re joined by four local GPs, highlighting the health community’s support for prevention-focused wellbeing initiatives.

Adding to the excitement are two standout competitors:

Joe Holroyde, a former Gladiators semi-finalist, ex-HYROX World Champion, and retired Public Health Medical Physician, and

Celia Duff, affectionately known as “Badass Gran“, a former World Champion in her age category, whose story continues to inspire generations to keep moving and keep pushing.

The Longevity Games is also uniting Swindon’s wider health, fitness, and charity communities. Local organisations such as Community Foster Care, The Roxi Foundation, Swindon Pickleball, Swindon Netball, and Elevation Aerial Fitness are actively participating — creating opportunities for collaboration, encouragement, and lasting change.

Founder Tim Howe said: “This event isn’t just about competition, it’s about building something bigger. We’re creating a culture of strength, connection, and prevention. The fact that this many people from councillors to GPs to everyday Swindonian’s are stepping up speaks volumes. We’re showing what’s possible when a town comes together with purpose.”

This movement has one bold goal: to make Swindon and the surrounding area the fittest in the country — and judging by the momentum, it’s well on its way.

Entries close at 7pm on Sunday 6th July.
