Dust off your boomboxes and dig out your scrunchies, because this summer, McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon is taking you on a nostalgic trip back to the 90s and 00s! Get ready to relive the glory days with “The Great Summer Social,” transforming the outlet into a vibrant, retro playground of colour, music, and pure fun for the whole family. 

Swindon Designer Outlet will be buzzing with activities across 6 weeks designed to spark joy and create unforgettable memories. Imagine a world where oversized games rule, arcade classics beckon, and every corner offers a photo op that screams “throwback”. 

Here’s a sneak peek at the key attractions for The Great Summer Social: 

• Giant Boombox Photo Op: Strike a pose with the larger-than-life boombox! This Instagram-worthy backdrop is perfect for capturing your inner pop star and sharing your summer vibes. 
• Arcade Zone: Challenge your friends and family to a blast from the past with three vintage arcade machines. Get ready for some serious button-mashing action! 
• Interactive Game Area: Get your game face on with oversized Connect 4, Twister, and Snakes & Ladders. It’s old-school fun on a grand scale! 
• Chill-Out Seating Area: Need a moment to recharge? The vibrant chill-out zone is the perfect spot to relax, soak in the atmosphere, and enjoy the summer buzz. 
• Vinyl Record Trail: Embark on a treasure hunt around the centre to find 10 hidden vinyl records. Successfully complete the trail and you’ll be rewarded with a cool retro-themed gift from Guest Services! 
• FREE outdoor limbing wall: Test your skills and reach new heights on the free outdoor climbing wall, available every Tuesday and Wednesday.

Adding to the excitement, the Designer Outlet is pleased to share two new store openings this month, with the ribbon being cut for the much-anticipated opening of Ravensburger. As well as Smiggle confirmed to open its doors on 31^st July. 

The Great Summer Social follows the successful grand opening of its newest retail partner, Crocs. The arrival of the globally recognised footwear brand further enhances the centre’s diverse offering of leading lifestyle and footwear brands.
