The Guardians Group is proud to announce that its CEO, Rob Firmin, has been named Male Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2025 Great British Business Awards. The award celebrates his exceptional leadership and the company’s remarkable growth and innovation within the charity sector.

The Great British Business Awards recognise the most inspiring and successful business leaders across the UK. This honour underscores Rob Firmin’s visionary leadership, innovative mindset, and unwavering dedication to driving both the success and the social impact of The Guardians Group.

The awards judges stated: “Rob Firmin has demonstrated remarkable entrepreneurial vision through the growth of Bespoke Guardians and his wider business leadership. His ability to balance commercial success with community engagement—most notably through his support of the Swindon Wildcats—highlights his dynamic and forward-thinking approach. Rob’s achievements show the impact of resilience, innovation, and a true commitment to people, making him a thoroughly deserving Male Entrepreneur of the Year.”

Speaking to Mr Firmin, he said: “It still doesn’t feel real.
I grew up a simple boy from Essex. I joined the Army with no qualifications, chasing purpose and belonging. When I left in 2012, I faced a harsh reality — I couldn’t find stable work. For years, I felt stuck. Lost. Wondering if I’d ever find a way forward.

In 2019, everything changed. I took the risk of building something from nothing — no guarantees, just belief, hard work, and the refusal to give up. And now, standing on that stage, holding this award, I realise something powerful:

Miracles don’t happen overnight. They happen when you choose to keep going.

But I didn’t walk this road alone. I was lifted, encouraged, and believed in by my wife, close friends, and colleagues who never let me give up. For that, I’ll always be grateful.

To anyone who feels like I once did — unsure, doubting yourself, wondering if you’ll ever break through — hear this: take the leap.

If I can do it, truly, anyone can.”
