It seems 35yr old Eternity actor Callum Turner has been blabbing to his friends, claiming he will be the next Bond. Turner has been one of several famous faces in the mix to be the next 007, along with James Norton, Henry Cavill, Aaron Taylor & Theo James to name a few.

It’s also been said by Callum’s circle of friends, that his pop start girlfriend Dua Lipa is also very happy about the the news and that she is very interested in being the singer for the next Bond theme tune.

In February 2025, Amazon MGM Studios gained full creative control of the franchise, with producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson also stepping down.

We last saw Bond in the 2021 No Time To Die with Daniel Craig. Since then, Bond fans have been desperate to hear the news of who will be the next actor to step into the shoes, first worn by Sean Connery. Deadline previously reported that the next director of Bond, Denis Villen, known for Dune and Blade Runner 2049 is searching for three things needed for the next Bond – a man, a Brit and one who is unknown. So with that said, that puts these latest rumours to bed as just rumours.

Bond is at a cross roads… With such a strong series of Bond with Daniel Craig, and the concerns of wokeness entering the world of Bond, another strong gritty portrayal of the Ian Fleming character is very much needed. James Bond is a former Commander in the Royal Navy, that straight away puts Bond at least 35yrs old by the time he enters service as a 00. The character was also a white male, and should not be changed. The idea of an unknown appeals to me, as all the names in the mix just don’t do it for me, in fact I really cant think of a known actor right now that could step into the shoes of Bond after Daniel Craigs outing of 007! Craig was for me, most defiantly the best Bond ever. So there are big shoes to fill. Someone like Craig I feel is needed.

For me, Turner looks like he has the ears of King Charles Spitting Image puppet, he’s far from good looking and so how can he be believable as a suave secret agent able to get any woman into bed?

Eddie Redmayne did an outstanding job in The Day of The Jackal, but hes already 43yrs old, so too old to batter himself through 10-15yrs of Bond Movies, plus again, hes not the best looking guy in the mix.

Theo James is one for me that stands out, but again, he’s already 41yrs old, there just doesn’t seem to be a well known male actor out there that could do a good job of being Bond.

If we are going down the line of a well known male actor, then if I had to choose, I would go for Aaron Taylor, he needs a good haircut but he I think could step into Craigs shoes, and he’s 35yrs old, young enough to do 15yrs as Bond.

Unfortunately, Callum is currently Paddy Power’s odds-on favourite to pick up the Walther PPK and slip on the tuxedo, and succeed as Daniel Craigs long awaited successor. Let hope they are wrong!
