Parish councillors will be available throughout the event to discuss the outdoor gym project, answer questions about open spaces matters across Haydon Wick, and share exciting plans for 2026. This is a wonderful opportunity to speak directly with your elected representatives in a relaxed, informal setting and learn more about the Council’s vision for community facilities and green spaces.
Residents are encouraged to take on sporting challenges during the event, with prizes up for grabs for participants!

Community Partnership in Action
The event is being delivered in partnership with Harlequin Playgrounds, the local company that installed the professional-grade equipment following the facility’s completion last October.
The outdoor gym features a comprehensive range of equipment including cross trainers, strength training stations, a calisthenics rig, and an accessible hand and pedal bike – all suitable for different fitness levels and abilities.
Councillor Richard Hailstone, Chair of the Parks & Open Spaces Committee, said: “We’re delighted to launch this fantastic facility at the start of 2026. This Sunday morning power hour is the perfect opportunity for residents to try out the equipment with expert support and discover how this free resource can help them achieve their fitness goals. We’re looking forward to meeting residents, celebrating this achievement together, and discussing our vision for Haydon Wick’s open spaces in the year ahead.”
A Free Resource for All
The outdoor gym sits alongside the existing children’s play area and multi-use games area (MUGA) at White Eagle, and is available free of charge to all residents year-round.
The facility was approved in June 2025 after being voted the top priority through the Council’s Participatory Budget Community Choices Programme, demonstrating the community’s strong desire for accessible fitness resources.
Don’t miss this special launch event – no booking required, just come along and join us for a Sunday morning power hour!
