007 First Light, by IO Interactive (makers of Hitman), is the most highly anticipated game to release in 2026 and the most anticipated Bond game to be released since 007 Legends in 2012.
First Light is Bonds origin story game for 2026, delayed from March to May 27, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC, promising an original narrative with iconic characters and extensive replay-ability.
The game follows a young Bond’s rise, featuring big set pieces, driving, and IO’s signature sandbox gameplay, making it a major release for 2026 alongside other anticipated titles like Grand Theft Auto VI.
The latest Bond video game will star Dexter Original Sin actor Patrick Gibson in the lead role is a re-imagined origin story for the iconic British spy, that after seeing the game trailer, I was immediately wanting to see this transformed into a live action series on Amazon Prime Video, the idea, concept, storyline is just begging to be transformed into a live action series! The game will follow the story of a 26yr old James Bond as he is recruited into MI6 and gains his 00 title, in a standalone story from the films or novels.
At the Game Awards in December 2025 IO Interactive revealed the game’s main villain would be performed by US singer Lenny Kravitz.
Looking at the gameplay trailer releases on YouTube, show similarities to the Hitman franchise as well as showcasing the gadgets and cinematic set pieces that fans have come to expect from Bond.
