A miniature Safari Park is to be created by guests visiting Longleat in February half term to mark the 60th anniversary being celebrated at the Wiltshire Estate.

It’s 60 years in April since Longleat opened the first Drive-Through Safari outside of Africa and a year of celebration is planned.

In advance of LEGO® Brick Week from 14th-22nd February, tiny versions of real-life wild animals have been spotted around the park.

From curious lorikeets and ostriches to gentle giraffes, these photographs show the reactions of the Longleat residents when they came face to face with their miniature LEGO® brick counterparts.

The special week offers visitors the opportunity to design and create LEGO® brick models, whether that’s animals, structures, trees or plants, to become part of Longleat’s brick safari.

Scott Ashman, Head of Operations, said: “Throughout the week, the brick safari will grow and come to life, as each visitor adds their models to create a unique piece of art.

For under fours, there will also be a fun DUPLO® Pit and the opportunity to let imaginations run wild.

“It’s 60 years since we introduced the first safari outside of Africa, and it’s exciting to be creating a new brick safari with the help of our visitors.

Imagination and visionary approaches are at the core of Longleat, the idea of wild animals roaming the Wiltshire countryside was unheard of before 1966, as well as conservation in many different forms.

“We can’t wait to see how our brick safari turns out; we love seeing the creativity of our guests, and this event will really give them that opportunity.”

Longleat reopens for 2026 season on Saturday 31st January on Fridays to Sundays, with LEGO® Brick Week starting on 14th February.
