On its first day of ticket sales, the First Lady’s documentary sold just one ticket at Vue Cinema’s flagship London venue, whilst a whopping four tickets had been sold at Cineworld in Wandsworth. The documentary released by Amazon hit the big screen in over 100 UK cinemas

Amazon MGM Studios bought the rights to the film for $40m (£30m), as well as spending $35m on a global marketing push.

Melania Trump is an executive producer of the documentary that documents the first 20days preceding Donald Trump’s return to the White House in January 2025, giving us an intimate rare look into the life of Melania Trump, exploring her role as First Lady and her relationship with the President.

An unofficial premiere of the documentary was screened at the White House in the cinema room with a small gathering, including Mike Tyson. The official premiere will screen at the Kennedy Center (which Trump has now named The Trump-Kennedy Center) on 29th January 2026.

On Monday, President Donald Trump posted photos from the White House event on Instagram and Truth Social, adding that the film is “a MUST WATCH” and that tickets are “selling out, FAST!”

The documentary is also the first project with director Brett Ratner best known for the Rush Hour franchise, since he faced multiple accusations of sexual misconduct in 2017. The director denied all the allegations and no charges were brought.
