Discover behind-the-scenes information on the famous animals at Longleat in a series of special keeper talks to mark the 60th anniversary of the Safari Park.

This year is the 60th anniversary of the Wiltshire estate opening the first Drive-Through Safari outside of Africa.

To celebrate there is a packed line-up for an Anniversary Garden Party set across two days, Saturday 11 – Sunday 12 April, with live entertainment, hot air balloon tethering, vintage motors and more.

Throughout the weekend, Longleat’s keepers will be hosting a variety of Keeper Talks, highlighting the conservation efforts that is at the heart of the park.

With four talks each day, guests can enjoy a variety of subjects, from Hippos at Longleat, Saving the White Rhino, Koala Creek Conservation, as well as behind the scenes information on Modern Animal Record Keeping.

With different topics each day, the talks will take place at 13:10, 13:40, 14:45 & 15:20 beside Longleat House.

Scott Ashman, Head of Operations at Longleat, said “Our Anniversary Garden Party has something for everyone, with lots of Longleat’s key pillars represented.

“Our fantastic animal keepers are putting on talks about many guests’ favourite animals and the conservation that happens behind the scenes.

“We’ll have our two hot air balloons, Simabloo and Adelaide, tethering at points throughout the day subject to weather, as well as cars and live music from decades past. There will be garden games, market stalls and all the usual Longleat fun.”

As well as the anniversary festivities, Longleat’s Easter event, Once Upon an Easter, will also be in full swing.

Guests can embark on a literary adventure, with interactive scenes from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, The Wind in the Willows, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Upon completing each scene, guests can earn a chocolate treat.

“For our anniversary weekend, we’ve also invited guests turning 60 in April to join us for free! Guests can use the code sixty26 when booking online*.”
