The iconic lions of Longleat can currently be seen roaming among a spectacular display of native bluebells in Lion Country, part of the estate’s famous Drive-Through Safari, which celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2026.

Following a bumper spring bloom, the rare sight has transformed the landscape within the lions’ territory, home to Simba, Klaus and their pride, creating a uniquely British safari scene found nowhere else in the world.
Darren Beasley, Head of Animal Operations, said:
“There’s nothing quite like seeing lions wandering through bluebells in the Wiltshire countryside — it’s one of our favourite times of year and a truly unique experience. You simply won’t see this anywhere else.”
“The moment beautifully captures the blend of native wildlife and the animals at the heart of Longleat. It reflects our core commitment to conservation — not only protecting the species in our care but also preserving the historic estate and landscape that has been central to our success for the past 60 years.”
Celebrations marking the 1966 opening of the Drive-Through Safari will take place throughout 2026. For more information, visit longleat.co.uk.
