Return of Queen Concert … We are delighted to welcome back “Supersonic Queen”, probably the best European Queen tribute out there, to Christchurch, in just three weeks time, on Saturday April 25th
They are raising funds for the Kelly Foundation, Swindon’s Independent Community Mental Health Support charity, and we are grateful to them and the business sponsorship, allowing this concert to take place. This is a welcome back .. because they were with us a little over a year ago, when the Church was rammed, the atmosphere electric, and it was no exaggeration to say “the whole place rocked” They certainly rocked us!!
Phil Copping (Freddie) decided to capture the finale on this unusual image but they say a picture paints a 1000 words, and this paints a story of Queen, their magical music and their place in British music heritage.
Especially poignant, was a tribute to Mary Austin (Love of My Life),together with images of them together on the big screen, who was of course married to Freddie but was forced to give him up as things spiralled in different directions … but she never ceased to love each other, she was there all through and at the end, and he left her a sizable part of his estate, including his home in West London, where she still lives today.
