The MACHADG TROPHY Stronger Together charity football tournament, involving 12 teams on Saturday 3rd October 2026 in support of CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) is just a couple weeks away, so if you are looking for a great day out, involving football, live music, great food, lots of children’s including inflatable Foot Pool and face painting, with tons of community spirit, then this event is for you!
As well as raising money for CALM, the MACHADG TROPHY – Stronger Together, is a 5-a-side tournament is also about celebrating the lives of two well-loved local men, Richard Hadgkiss and Calum McDonald.
All money raised we will be supporting CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) – Focuses on preventing male suicide, providing a free, confidential helpline and webchat, as well as community awareness campaigns.
The football tournament during the day involving 12 teams with mums, dad’s & siblings taking part, will be followed by a silent auction & raffle with some incredible prizes on offer.
On hand to feed everyone, will include Wiltshire based The Rebel Bites.
Bar Equipment, Extra Seating, Log Noughts & Crosses will be provided by KJ Bar Hire. And for entertainment, there will be live music from the amazing Lucy Grey, ROCKUMENTAL, along with DJ set from Lady-Y-Len.
ROCKUMENTAL are a premier Classic Rock Show band with a reputation as one of the best live acts around, bringing huge anthems from the biggest names with a hugely exciting live performance that will rock you mental!
DJ Lady-Y-Len is a Drum ‘n’ Bass DJ living in Swindon!
This is all in memory of Richard & Callum…..
Speaking to a spokesperson for the event, they said: “Richard was loved by many for his big personality and was well known for his involvement in football, rugby, and any sport. We all miss him dearly and want to remember him through this event. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of Richard’s passing. We also hope to support other families so they can access help and avoid going through the heartbreak we experienced.
Calum loved family and was the life and soul of every party, always happy to see his friends, full of laughter, and such a happy-go-lucky lad. His loss reminds us that you never truly know what someone is going through, no matter how well you think you know them”.
The families are incredibly grateful for the support that was there for them during this unexpected and heartbreaking time. Through this event, they hope to honour Richard and Calum, celebrate the joy they brought to everyone around them, bring the community together, and raise awareness so others can get the help they need.
