The INEOS Grenadier has been named Adventure Car of the Year at the 2026 News UK Motor Awards, drawing praise from judges for redefining what buyers can expect from a 4X4. The accolade is testament to the class-leading off-road capabilities and adventurous spirit that the Grenadier is known for worldwide.

The News UK Motor Awards celebrate the cars, brands and innovations driving the future of motoring, and are adjudicated by a panel of motoring writers from The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun and Luxx magazine.

In declaring the Grenadier as the winner in the Adventure Car of the Year category, Nick Rufford, Assistant Editor of The Sunday Times, remarked: “INEOS Automotive has fine-tuned the steering ratio and boosted the power steering to improve the 2026 Grenadier’s on-road performance. Now it’s a proper go-anywhere vehicle from weaving through city traffic to boulder fields, loose inclines and boggy moorland. If most SUVs are really for shopping expeditions, the Grenadier is for expeditions into the unknown. You won’t find a tougher or more loyal wilderness companion.”

Lynn Calder, CEO of INEOS Automotive, said: “The Grenadier was designed and built to tackle any journey, whether for work, adventure or daily family life; on the road or off it. This year, we produced our best Grenadier yet, introducing upgrades and enhancements that took its everyday driveability to another level. And that makes it all the more gratifying to see it being recognised for its spirit of exploration and inherent capabilities.”

Production began in 2023 and there are now Grenadiers operating on every continent on earth. In addition to finding homes with tens of thousands of passionate customers in over 50 markets, Grenadiers are also serving in the most demanding operational environments with police, border patrols, special forces and emergency rescue services. Built to take people and their kit wherever they need to go, its combination of peerless off-road capability, on-road comfort and versatile practicality has won multiple awards around the world.

The recognition by News UK follows shortly after the INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster was named Pick-Up Towcar of the Year at the 2027 Caravan and Motorhome Club Awards. In awarding the category win, judges praised the Quartermaster for its supreme towing performance, huge 350kg noseweight allowance and extraordinary roof-load capability.
