Town made two changes from Tuesday’s league defeat at Evesham, with Henry Sady and Lewis Royston making way for Olaf Koszela and Leon Moore, both of which returned following spells out with injury.
In the opening minutes a neat Bluebirds move almost let Piotr Petrynski have a shot at the far post, but JJ Briggs in the Cray goal pounced to clear the ball.

Koszela, playing in a fluid front two, found his strike parter Odei-Larbi in the penalty box, with Cray clearing away.
The hosts took the lead on 18 minutes, as Ola Ogunwamide beat his man and found the top corner from distance.
It was a goal from the next move, as Town gifted possession to Lateef Adaja, with the winger crossing for Ade Yussuff to tap in at the far post for two in two minutes.
Odei-Larbi created his own chance down the Town left, with his shot from a narrow angle rustling the side netting.

Approaching the break, a set-piece routine saw Yusuff shoot past the post.
Chippenham started the second 45 as the better side, with Petrynski and Koszela both going close.
Town had a big chance thanks to Odei-Larbi. Marley Rose and Petrynski combined well, for the latter’s cross to find Odei-Larbi’s head and just past the post.
Despite The Bluebirds’ dominance, the hosts struck on 70 minutes, with pinball in the penalty area and a clattering of the post lead the ball falling for Lateef Adaja to tap in.
With ten minutes left to play, a driving run from Alex Kieh set free Marley Rose to drive towards goal. He was felled by Briggs, giving Town a chance from the penalty spot.
Olaf Koszela took the kick, which was low to the goalkeeper’s left, which was saved and held for Briggs’ redemption.
Now out of both cup competitions, Town can focus on the league, with their next match at Chertsey this weekend.
