The countdown to Christmas is on for Longleat’s youngest residents as they approach their first Christmas.

The Wiltshire estate has seen a baby boom in 2026 as it marks the 60th anniversary of its Drive-Through Safari.

Recent arrivals include rare Amur tiger twins, an endangered red panda cub, capybara twins in a first for the park, as well as wolf pups, flamingo chicks and a cotton top tamarin.

Darren Beasley, Head of Animal Operations, said “It has been fantastic to see the new arrivals across the park.

“Each birth and hatching has been part of vital breeding programmes, to help their wild counterparts, so seeing the success we’ve had this year has been wonderful.”

Longleat’s festive showcase, The Festival of Light, returns for another year from 7 November 2026 – 17 January 2027 on selected dates with just one month to go until guests can see this year’s spectacle.

“Christmas is always special at Longleat, not only with The Festival of Light, but also seeing our animals enjoy the festive enrichment our keepers work so hard on.”

Guests can see the majority of this year’s babies on the various safari experiences, during this year’s The Festival of Light: Legendary Worlds. For more information and to book tickets, please visit longleat.co.uk
