JP Oldfield

JP Oldfield is a singer-songwriter from Devizes, UK, whose music lingers in the shadows between blues, gothic storytelling, and atmospheric mood. Often described as “Southern-Gothic blues,” his work blends moody grooves with dark, twisted narratives that feel as much like a journey into character as a song.

A deep baritone voice and an instinct for storytelling define his style, earning comparisons to the likes of Tom Waits, Nick Cave, and with occasional shades of The Handsome Family. Oldfield’s performances are similarly distinctive, often featuring unconventional instrumentation that adds texture and unpredictability to his live shows.

It’s music built as much on atmosphere as melody, darkly compelling and evocative—a modern take on a timeless, gothic-tinged blues tradition.
