I have been waiting for the release of this game since 2019 when I last played the Gears game and boy this game did not disappoint. It had everything gore, weapons, a great storyline, memorable characters, and hordes upon hordes of Locust every gear fan wet dream.
The Gears of War franchised released back in September 2006 it was originally released by Epic games (fortnite) for the first 3 games then the coalition took over the reins in 2016 they then went on and developed Gears of War 4 5 Judgement Tactics and now E-DAY now this franchise was the reason i ditched my playstation roots and went over to Xbox consoles because seeing the power of the xbox 360 had at the time was phenomenal for the turn of the 21st century granted sony came out with the Playstation 3 which was the first sony console to have a blu-ray player to watch movies but it did not beat the 360 as it had the best day one releases.
Now going back to the review. I was skeptical at first they are bringing out a prequel and bringing back dead characters which when they died it was heart breaking for the fans of the game and hey presto they are back kind of sucks considering when they died it was the hardest part of the game and the mission you tried everything to keep them alive but nah they died joined their family etc etc heart wrenching right but it was part and parcel of the mission it happened it sucked onto the next mission.
But being able to play as that character bring back the nostalgia of the OG games the brotherhood shared going through thick and thin together all over again as the only time you could play as said character was if you jumped into a couch coop game with your mates which I use to do religiously every Saturday my mate would come round we would fire up the console hope back into the game where you left off the weekend before and kicked arse and take names like clockwork it was fantastic ooh to be young again lol.
But the new characters in this game are brilliant. We have Lucus, a cadet that only just signed up to the COGS then got thrown straight in the deep end when the locust horde first emerged. Then you have Mags who was an explosive expert before getting dishonourably discharged for an explosion that malfunctioned, killing her whole squad and brutally injuring herself.

The main story is great so far I have not Completed the whole game yet as I am only on Act 2 of 5 at the moment so there will be no spoilers in the whole review but from first looks it is brilliant if you are gears of war fan then this game is for you.
So grab your friends and rev up your chainsaw lancer, arm yourself with frag grenades, and polish up your gnasher and get ready for yet another wild ride taking on the locust horde in another epic story in the Gears of War Franchise.
