Swindon Town Football Club is delighted to announce that Lewis Ward’s option in his contract has been activated, with the goalkeeper now set to remain at the Nigel Eady County Ground until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.

Ward has provided excellent support and competition within the Robins’ goalkeeping department. Ward has continued to demonstrate outstanding professionalism and commitment behind the scenes.

Highly respected within the dressing room, Ward has become known as a positive influence around the squad, earning praise from both staff and teammates for his attitude and selflessness. His contribution to the group was recognised at the end of the 2025/26 season when he received the Roger Reeves Values Award, acknowledging his dedication, application, and commitment to the team across the course of the campaign.

Manager Ian Holloway said: “Lewis is exactly the type of person you want at your football club. His attitude every single day is first-class, and even when opportunities have been limited, he’s continued to work hard, support his teammates, and stay ready whenever he’s needed.

“He’s an outstanding character around the dressing room and someone who represents the values we want at this club. Awards like the Roger Reeves Values Award don’t happen by accident; they come from how you carry yourself every day, and Lewis fully deserves that recognition. I’m delighted he’ll be staying with us.”
