Haydon Wick Parish Council is delighted to announce the official grand opening of its new Grounds Maintenance Facility, marking the successful completion of a major investment in the Parish’s future.
Following the handover of keys in November and several months of final preparations, the building is now in full operational use. The Council is proud to showcase the completed Facility, which represents the culmination of more than three years of dedicated planning, consultation, and collaboration.

To celebrate this milestone, an official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Tuesday 28th July at 2.30pm. The event will bring together invited guests, including the project teams who led the Facility from concept to completion, alongside Leisure Garden plot holders who have witnessed its transformation from foundations to the finished structure.
Located at the heart of Haydon Wick, the new Facility has been carefully designed to support both operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. Solar panels installed on the roof demonstrate the Parish Council’s commitment to renewable energy, helping to reduce both operational costs and carbon emissions. In addition, new trees have been planted to replace those removed during construction, ensuring the continued enhancement of the area’s green environment.
The purpose-built Facility provides a modern, practical space for the Parish Council’s Parks and Open Spaces team, enabling them to deliver services more effectively across Haydon Wick’s parks, play areas, and open spaces. With dedicated storage, workshop areas, and improved working conditions, the building allows the team to operate more efficiently while supporting greener practices.
Councillor Vinay Manro, Chairman of the Council, comments:
“The new Grounds Maintenance Facility represents an important step forward for Haydon Wick Parish Council and provides a permanent base for the Council’s Parks & Open Spaces Team.
Bringing together staff, vehicles and equipment in one location, the Facility will support the maintenance and improvement of parks, play areas and green spaces across the Parish. It provides a secure home for Council-owned equipment and helps ensure the team has the resources needed to deliver services effectively and respond to local issues.
As Haydon Wick continues to develop for the community, the Facility will support the ongoing care of the open spaces that residents value. From grounds maintenance and play area inspections to future park improvements, it strengthens the Council’s ability to keep community spaces clean, safe and well maintained. This investment is about supporting residents and protecting the community assets we all enjoy, helping ensure high-quality parks and open spaces for years to come.”
Since first stepping into the building, the Parks and Open Spaces team has embraced their new working environment, with thoughtfully designed spaces tailored to their needs. The Facility also reflects the Council’s sustainability ethos throughout, incorporating repurposed furniture and materials wherever possible.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, bookable tours will be available for residents and guests who are interested in learning more about the operational aspects of the Facility, providing a behind-the-scenes look at how the team supports and maintains the Parish’s green spaces.
The grand opening event marks not only the completion of the project but also an opportunity to recognise the contributions of everyone involved in bringing the vision to life. Book your Tour online now!
