Alongside the latest horror releases, a selection of creepy classics will be returning to the big screen at Vue Swindon this autumn to celebrate spooky season, offering a treat for audiences of all ages, tastes and scare levels.

First to conjure up the Halloween spirit is Disney’s much-loved Hocus Pocus, which returns from 2nd October. This wickedly wonderful family favourite follows the chaos that unfolds when three witches are magically revived, causing a mix of magic, mischief and mayhem.

For older audiences, The Others is back to terrify moviegoers from 16th October. Starring Nicole Kidman, this supernatural classic is packed with creeping tension, eerie encounters and one of cinema’s most memorable twists. Other spooky titles casting their spell include cult supernatural favourite The Craft, which returns from 16th October, and iconic slasher Scream, which celebrates 30years of scares with an anniversary screening from 23rd October.

As well as familiar favourites, new releases include psychological thriller Verity, adapted from the acclaimed Colleen Hoover novel of the same name and starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson, arriving on 2nd October.

Meanwhile, based on the beloved and award-winning BBC comedy, Ghosts: The Possession of Button House heads to Vue from 23rd October. Following a group of ghosts from different time periods who haunt the same house, the film marks the first feature-length family adventure from the show’s creators.

Other thrilling and chilling releases include Other Mommy, a supernatural scare-fest starring Jessica Chastain in a dual role; Clayface, DC Comics’ horrifying take on an iconic Batman villain; and creepy spider creature feature Crawlers, arriving on 9th October, 23rd October and 30th October respectively.

The Halloween line-up wraps up with two anniversary releases from 30th October. Cult classic Donnie Darko, starring Jake Gyllenhaal in his breakthrough role as a troubled teenager who encounters a mysterious figure in a rabbit costume, returns to the big screen 25years after its initial release. Meanwhile, acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro’s beautifully dark fairy tale Pan’s Labyrinth returns to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Film lovers at Vue Swindon can also enjoy Vue’s biggest and comfiest seat the Ultra Lux. Strategically positioned to give the best possible view of the big screen, Ultra Lux seating also features an extra-wide armrest, back and leg rests that recline independently, a personal table for snacks and drinks and a state-of-the-art beverage cooler – making it the most luxurious way to immerse yourself in a great story.
