Chippenham Town have been eliminated from the FA Trophy on penalty kicks, following a 2-2 draw in normal time with Weymouth.
Town made two changes to the starting XI, with Lewis Royston and Jac Poffley replacing Leon Moore and Ben Richards-Everton. The bench included young players Harry Messenger, Harry Feeney and Ashton Arlow.
The visitors had the first two chances with Brooklyn Gensini having a header and volley both over the crossbar.
The third time was the charm for Gensini with his shot on 28 minutes sliding past Whitchard for the lead.
Town were level just minutes later, as Birthday Boy Felix miles picked out the top corner from outside of the area, with the score 1-1 at the break.
Just before the hour mark, the visitors were in front again. Bearwish was slipped through following a Town mistake, and his finish went low past Witchard.
Chippenham plugged away, and Odei-Larbi put two crosses in from the byline. The first was claimed by Weymouth’s ‘keeper, and the second was met by Taylor-Crossdale with his effort stopped on the line.
Chippenham levelled on 84 minutes, with Alex Kieh’s run leading to him shooting from range. His shot flew into the top corner, for his first senior goal!
Town went close in added time, with a number of penalty box scrambles unable to crate a shot.
With the sides level after 90 minutes; a penalty shootout mandated to separate the two sides.
Chippenham took first, with Will King’s penalty saved.
Weymouth scored their first, with Felix Miles wrapping an effort in.
Chippenham ‘keeper then saved two in succession, sandwiching Martell Taylor-Crossdale’s scored penalty. That meant Town lead.
Luke Haines then scored, as did Mitchell Beardmore.
Richards-Everton had his scored to win penalty saved, with Weymouth’s Brown scoring to send it to sudden death.
Odei-Larbi had his effort saved, with Kieran Douglas scoring to send Weymouth through.
