Wiltshire’s unique parkland and downland experience

Founded in 1888, Marlborough has established itself as one of the finest golf courses in Wiltshire.

Set on the edge of historic Marlborough near Swindon, this thriving members’ club has two distinctly different layouts – a tree-lined parkland front nine and a downland back 9 played on 120-year-old, wonderfully springy turf, both beautiful and challenging for golfers at all levels.

The unique, striking clubhouse sits overlooking the course is home to members, visitors and those who value excellent facilities and a friendly and helpful professional team.

The bar, restaurant and veranda on the first floor provides a stunning panoramic view across the course which has been the venue for the Wiltshire Professional Championships since 1992 , but still providing a fair test for golfers of all abilities. It is built on well-drained downland allowing play all year round and rarely closes but has much more variety to offer than the traditional downland course.

The club has a top-class green-keeping team, with regular players and visitors often commenting on the exceptional quality of the course presentation.

At 6,444yards from the white tees, 6,200 from the gold tees, and 5600 from the purple tees), the Marlborough course is a fair challenge for low handicappers and less experienced players alike.

At Marlborough Golf Club, we have created a clear pathway to membership to guide beginner golfers and those returning to golf through a step-by-step plan for transitioning from taking up the sport to membership.
